The Tanzania Chamber Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) Arusha regional chamber is a voluntary non – profit making association of businesses (small, medium and large enterprises) within the private sector who have come together to foster economic development of their enterprises.
TCCIA works very closely with these stakeholders in the major sectors of agriculture, industry and commerce and at all levels but with the main focus on the small and medium enterprises (SME’s) aiming its contribution towards poverty alleviation. TCCIA Arusha was launched in December 1994 and commenced its operation in 1995. It is currently spread in all Arusha districts namely Arusha, Arumeru, Longido, Karatu and Monduli.
The Arusha Regional Chamber in the years of its early existence started with giving information of export products and input potential by conducting symposiums, seminars as well as training and capacity building to its members, the major of who have little knowledge to business world.
Training of these members and non members has continued to be a priority due to the training needs which have been identified after a recent Training Needs Assessment. The growing competition arising from the recent globalization trends has also made training a necessary component for our SME’s which are still at an infant stage and lack the essentials of good business management skills.
